Portland Hotel

The organizers of the conference had teamed up with the local Double Tree hotel (part of the Hilton group) situated just two blocks away from the convention centre. When I checked in I was given a warm chocolate chip cookie (why?) but it tasted absolutely divine! After reading through the hotel literature it turned out that this was part of their way of making you feel like part of 'their family' as the Double Tree prides itself on making your stay as relaxing as possible. I took one of the glass elevators up to my room which was on the ninth floor. When I opened the curtains I saw that I had a balcony & a really good view of Portland.
