Embassy Suites

We chose this hotel since it was the one used for the conference activities (other than the conference itself, i.e. event reception, Gala Dinner, etc). Although it wasn't on the strip, it was only a 5-minute walk (or 30 second drive) from the conference venue & was so much easier to park at & travel to & from (there were traffic jams on 'The Strip' whenever we drove on it irrespective of the time of day). There was also a free shuttle bus to & from The Strip. We had a three room suite (lounge, bathroom, & master bedroom) overlooking the pool & facing the city. There were two large flat screen TVs (one in the lounge & master bedroom) & Beth had the sofa bed in the lounge all to herself.

The hotel is based around a 6 storey Atrium with Palm Trees, Koi Pond & Swans! The Royal Swans that live in the Atrium are named Elvis & Priscilla. They receive a lot of attention from guests & apparently know many of the staff members on sight. Their favourite food is spinach, & Beth was lucky enough to get to feed them one morning. In my opinion, one of the best aspects of the hotel was the complimentary, cooked to order, breakfast. Omelettes (with cheese, ham, bacon, mushrooms), Hash Brown, Sausages, Bacon all cooked while you wait & if that wasn't enough there was a room off the Atrium that included cereal, toast, bagels, cakes, fruit, juice, tea, coffee, milk, & other breakfast related items. Just the thing that you need before a long walk around 'Vegas.
