Miracle Mile Shops (at Planet Hollywood)

Our first experience of The Strip was the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino (where we were dropped off by the hotel shuttle bus). The Miracle Mile Shops are part of the Planet Hollywood development & since we were on a mission to get some souvenirs, we thought that we would take a quick peek inside the mall. The first thing that I noticed was the Dodge Challenger SRT-8 parked at the entrance to the Mall (you could win it at the casino), followed by an Aston Martin (inside the mall entrance). The next thing that struck me was the mall ceiling - it was painted to look like the sky outside & the upper portion of most of the 170 shops were generally constructed to look like older buildings. As we made our way through the mall, we came upon the 'free rainstorm'. Intrigued, we waited for the 10 minutes or so until the next show to see if anything would happen. The (indoor) sky started to darken, mist started to form on the 'lake', followed by thunder & lightning. The show finale was a torrential downpour in the mall!
