Disney ‘All Stars’.

One of the reasons that we were able to go to Disneyworld on vacation was the good deal that we got for accommodation. If you stayed ‘on-site’, when you purchased four nights you got three free! Although it would have been really nice to stay in one of the deluxe resort hotels, we figured that since our vacation was fairly short we wouldn’t have time to use all the hotel amenities so one of the ‘value’ resorts would be ideal for our ‘base camp’.

We stayed at Disney’s ‘All-Star Movies’ resort hotel which is a 1,920 room hotel that forms part of a three hotel ‘All-Star’ complex. The movies hotel is Disney movie themed & includes giant icons (e.g., a 30 feet tall Woody & 47 feet tall Buzz Lightyear) from Toy Story, The Love Bug, Fantasia, The Mighty Ducks, & One Hundred & One Dalmatians. We chose a standard room which not only saved more money but also meant that we were further from the entertainment, food, & shopping complex (but it was still only a five minute walk). However, it also meant that we were in a quieter part of the hotel, were next to the smaller, less busy, swimming pool (shaped like an ice-hockey rink & themed after the Mighty Ducks film, the same as our room) & were much closer to the park transport bus terminal at the hotel next to us.
