Grease At The Muny
The Muny is the largest & oldest outdoor theater in the US. It was built in 1917 in just 49 days, with 7 of those lost due to bad weather!
Grease was currently showing (each show is only on for a week during the summer season) & we thought it would be pretty cool to watch the production in an open air theater (especially as the weather was so good!). We could have lined up to get one of the 1500 free seats that are available for each performance at the theater, but Nicola kindy decided to get tickets for some really good seats. This meant that we were able to drive downtown rather than having to wait about until the theater opened.
The show was a bit different to the film version of Grease, with some completely new scenes added & some of the most 'important' film scenes omitted. Still, the show was good & it was a completely new experience to be able to watch the sun go down whilst watching a show.
