Laumeier Sculpture Park

Laumeier Sculpture Park is about 15 minutes from where we live & is unique in the fact that it is effectively an open-air museum showcasing more than 70 sculptures. It also has an indoor art museum (which was displaying artistic items not suitable for children when we visited), & is accredited by the American Association of Museums. Being outside, most of the sculptures are fairly large, with 'The Way' by Alexander Liberman probably being the largest (it is made from disused oil storage tanks). Another one of our favorites was 'Eye' by Tony Tasset, which is, as it's name suggests, an eye, although this one has been super-sized & is about 12 ft diameter!
