Ceasars Palace

Caesars Palace, is a 3,348 room/suite, luxury hotel & casino owned & operated by Harrah's Entertainment. It is located on the west side of the Strip, between the Bellagio & Mirage & the rooms are located in 5 towers: Augustus, Centurion, Roman, Palace, & the Forum. The guest suites in the Forum tower are larger than our house! This hotel is probably unique in the fact that it was the venue for a Formula One World Championship race (Caesars Palace Grand Prix, in 1981 & 1982). The track was laid out in the parking lot of the hotel & was, apparently, a good course (for one that was temporary) with sufficient space for overtaking, lots of run-off areas filled with sand, & a really smooth driving surface. Alan Jones (Australia) won in 1981 & Michele Alboreto (Italy) won in 1982. 'Caesars' was the first casino that we had been in & one of the first things that we noticed were that there didn't appear to be any signs showing the exits (other than emergency signs). We figured that this was to ensure that you spent your time walking around the casino becoming more tempted to spend a few $$$! Eventually we managed to find our way out of the casino & into The Forum shopping mall (which is part of Caesars).
